These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Stable Stakes mobile application and related services. By entering a Stable Stakes challenge, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Important Information

1.1 To enter a Stable Stakes challenge, you must be 18 years of age or over and hold a valid UK golf handicap registered in your own name under the World Handicap System (WHS).

1.2 By entering your first Stable Stakes challenge, you enter into a legally binding agreement with Stable Stakes Ltd (the "Company").

1.3 Stable Stakes is a skill-based competition and does not constitute a game of chance or gambling under the Gambling Act 2005. Rewards are earned solely through achieving defined performance targets in official Stableford competitions.

1.4 Apple is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, this contest in any manner. This contest is solely operated and sponsored by Stable Stakes Ltd.

1.5 Please play responsibly. Stable Stakes is designed for entertainment. Only enter challenges you can afford and do not view participation as a means of financial gain.

2. Definitions

Stable Stakes – A rewards-based golf challenge service linked to official UK Stableford competitions.

Competitor – An eligible individual who enters a Stable Stakes challenge.

Challenge – A skill-based performance challenge with a predefined Stableford target score.

Competition – An official 18-hole Stableford competition held at a UK golf club and used for WHS handicap calculation.

Rewards – Non-cash vouchers issued for meeting a challenge target.

Conditions of Play (COPs) – Rules governing challenge entry, score verification, and reward issuance.

3. Contract Formation

3.1 A contract is formed between the Competitor and the Company when a challenge entry is submitted.

3.2 The Company may amend these Terms at any time. Updated Terms take effect immediately upon publication. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

4. Entry Rules and Fair Play

4.1 Challenges must be entered in advance of the relevant Stableford competition.

4.2 Competitors may enter multiple challenges for the same competition. The first Stableford round played on that day will be used for all entered challenges.

4.3 All score submissions must comply with the Rules of Golf. Competitors must not engage in fraudulent activity, including:

  • Handicap manipulation
  • Submitting inaccurate or false scores
  • Collusion or coordination to distort results

4.4 Where integrity concerns are identified, the Company may withhold rewards, suspend accounts, or permanently restrict access.

4.5 The Company reserves the right to adjust target scores globally or on a club-specific basis to maintain fairness and sustainability.

5. Rewards, Entries, Deposits, and Payments

Rewards

5.1 Rewards are issued as non-cash vouchers only and may be redeemed with approved retailers or club pro shops. Cash redemption is not available.

5.2 Vouchers are issued via approved partners and are typically delivered by email within 24–72 hours of verification.

5.3 The Company's sole obligation is to issue a valid voucher. Any issues relating to voucher use, acceptance, goods, or services must be resolved directly with the retailer or pro shop.

Deposits

5.4 Deposits added to a user's account are non-refundable. Deposits represent pre-funded account credit and cannot be withdrawn or redeemed for cash.

Challenge Entries and Cancellations

5.5 Users may cancel a challenge at any time up to the day of their competition. Where a challenge is cancelled before the competition takes place, the challenge entry amount will be credited back to the user's account balance.

5.6 If a competition is cancelled by the user's golf club (for example, due to weather or course closure), the Company will credit the challenge entry amount back to the user's account balance provided sufficient evidence of the cancellation is supplied.

Acceptable evidence may include:

  • A screenshot from the club's competition system
  • An official email or notice from the golf club

5.7 Deposits themselves are not refunded, including where a competition is cancelled. Only the challenge entry amount may be credited back.

5.8 If a user personally withdraws from a competition for any reason, no entry credit will be issued.

5.9 In rare cases where a high volume of competitors meet their targets on the same day, reward values may be adjusted by approximately 10–20% to ensure operational sustainability.

5.10 Failed or dishonoured payments may result in account suspension and forfeiture of associated rewards.

6. Responsible Play and Self-Exclusion

6.1 Stable Stakes encourages responsible participation. Challenges should be entered for enjoyment, not financial return.

6.2 Users may request self-exclusion by contacting info@stablestakes.co.uk. During self-exclusion, the account will be temporarily suspended.

6.3 The Company may apply limits or restrictions where excessive or irresponsible behaviour is identified.

7. Account Suspension and Termination

7.1 The Company may suspend or terminate accounts for:

  • Fraud or integrity breaches
  • Abuse of entry or credit policies
  • Serious or repeated violations of these Terms

7.2 Users will be notified of any suspension and may appeal by contacting info@stablestakes.co.uk.

8. Force Majeure

8.1 The Company is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including extreme weather, regulatory changes, or major technical incidents.

9. Marketing and Communications

9.1 Users may opt out of marketing communications via account settings or by emailing info@stablestakes.co.uk.

10. Data Protection and Privacy

10.1 Personal data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

11. Intellectual Property

11.1 All intellectual property rights in the Stable Stakes app, brand, and content belong to Stable Stakes Ltd.

11.2 Users may not reproduce, distribute, or exploit any part of the service without prior written consent.

12. Limitation of Liability

12.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company's liability is limited to the value of the relevant challenge entry or reward.

12.2 The Company is not liable for indirect losses, third-party service issues, or user error.

12.3 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud where exclusion is unlawful.

13. Misuse of the App

13.1 Users must not misuse the app, including attempts to hack, exploit offers, or provide false information.

13.2 Misuse may result in suspension, termination, and forfeiture of rewards.

14. Indemnity

14.1 Users agree to indemnify Stable Stakes Ltd against losses arising from breaches of these Terms or unlawful use of the service.

15. Changes to Services

15.1 The Company may modify or discontinue services at any time. Reasonable notice will be provided where possible.

16. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

16.1 Complaints must be submitted to info@stablestakes.co.uk within 30 days of the relevant event.

16.2 Unresolved disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17. Governing Law

17.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

17.2 The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
